S and I finally watched the documentary Helvetica last night – a truly brilliant film. Our absolute favorite part, and just favorite guy all around, was Mark Spiekermann. He had me rolling. Turns out Mark has a blog, which I had to share with our little family. I can forget about cyclist maimers/murderers for now and focus instead on the unlikely places people express human-ness (sic)… like Mark’s take on Helvetica. I quote: “It’s air, you know. It’s just there. There’s no choice. You have to breathe, so you have to use Helvetica.” Ah, well said, Herr.

Ah…I enjoyed every moment of Helvetica.
We just recently watched The King of Kong. While it was not artful as Helvetica, it was worth a watch.
