2009 RDC training thread

Filed under: VeloFietsen — quietglow @ 11:14 am

Opening this sucker up for discussion. The impending end of cx has me thinking ahead to plans for next year. I’m going to get on the RDC team site, but for the time being if anyone wants to think long-term plans with me we can chat it here.

So far, I have come to three solid conclusions:

1. A proper training cycle for a mid-november peak for cx begins in July. Long rides will be part of my early-season no doubt, but they will start going out of focus august-ish.

2. Because of that, my peak for road season will be mid/end of June. So the HHH will be my target road race.

3. Given those two things, intensive spring training will begin Feb 1 for me.

I’m sorta in the process of converting a Hal Higdon training program for the road season. I’ll post it when I’m done.

(*sniff* my first cycling post in ages not tagged with cx)

Massive Fail success family k

Filed under: Friends and Family — crelatia @ 7:20 pm

The M83 tickets are sold out…they are selling limited tickets at the door.  Which sounds hopeful(ish).  Anybody want to come with me drink beer and wait for the tickets to sell at the bottom lounge tomorrow?

K so I put in another Zenni order…this time added the team glass frame with a 50% green tint.

Please note, lenses should be tinted green 🙂

That’s a scar-y house

Just found out that my uncle is going to buy a house down the street from him, but it’s not just any old house, it’s Scarface’s house… No, not that Scarface.

maybe it was the 34 degree ride with 30mph driven sleet, but I am feeling scan-doe.

My current fav: Seabear (okay icelandic, but that counts)

New Day

Is it just me, or does stuff seem just a little sparkly this morning?

Round up. Vomity nervous about tomorrow.

Filed under: Politics (sorry), stuff, VeloFietsen — groenefee @ 11:12 am

Right BWers, I’m in all flavours of fidget currently. I’m at work and wanting to heave thinking about the impending election. I thought I’d offer some general summary points to facilitate distracting conversation.

Wheel Building is a riot! I’m 5 Wheels in and so very proud of the results. They look cool as skool and I’m not posting pictures, as I’d like you to be gobsmacked with their beauty in person. I should say that the DA hubs inside Swiss DT rims with Schwalbe Ultremo tyres are freaking light and fast looking. Would love to build up a set of dick-around tubulars for shits and giggles. J if you run into those GP4s grab em. I wish that I had a slightly higher cash flow as I’d love to give wheels as x-mas presents.

There is a bar nearby that is wonderful. Come here to experience. Properly served Groenefee and serious bier list.

Weather…oh, my lord the weather…that leads me to talk about…

Trixie. I repaired her wheels and put a new chain on her with skin wall 40-635’s and my gad, I forgot how much I loved her!

Have you seen Control yet? damn fine film…follow it with Festival.

Got the new Bloc Party…no reasoned opinion yet.

Grass-fed local pork brats are soooooooooooooooooo wonderful! We’re in piggy heaven.
